Final Blog – Vanderbeek

I think our final project presentation went really well, definitely better than our practice. The biggest comments made were about video editing I think. We definitely could have edited our videos more, and I do think the idea of having an intro video would have been a good one, as well as the idea of identifying our interviewees. That would have provided context and given them more authority in the reader’s eyes. The design of our website came across well, which I was glad about, and we did get really good feedback on how we presented our information and what information was presented. The biggest problem we ran into when it came to this project was definitely working remotely. It made it hard to get in contact with people and schedule things, but I think for the resources we had we still did well!

I designed the whole website and was in charge of organizing the content into a story and figuring out what else needed to be done. I also did a lot of the writing portion with Mackenzie and Casey. I did a bit of research for statistics, but Ben did most of that. Overall, I was a bit of a leader in the group, and I delegated tasks out based on what needed to get done. Then, I took the content, supplemented it if it needed it, and put it in context with the rest of the story.
