This week, we had our practice project presentation, and it really helped give a better idea of what exactly needs to get done in the next week before our final presentation. Katie had a ton of notes for us afterward, and we’ll delegate out how things need to get done so they get done the most efficiently.
One of the biggest things that were mentioned for our project was providing context. The project starts out with a running history of the legal battles concerning interracial marriage and dating. For this section, we’ll need to provide a title definitely, and I’m thinking it might be beneficial to also put a short description or intro to it saying that interracial relationships have been a big legal problem in the history of the US, especially where internal race relations are concerned. For our statistics section after that, there needs to be more explanation of individual graphics and why we chose them, along with some more sources. For the interviews section, I think after each question it would be good to summarize what the responses and possibly compare and contrast them a bit.
The biggest thing I’ll be doing this week is streamlining the website to be more story-oriented. I think, instead of pages, I’ll make it one long page to scroll through, and fix some of the color scheme problems as well.
