This week, our project made a lot of progress! I got a lot of the design part of it done, now it’ll just be down to putting in the actual content. I was super satisfying to get that part of it done because now it feels like its almost ready for presentation! I split it into two sections titled the stats and the interviews. One will have statistical information about bias and stereotypes in the US, and the other will have our in-person interviews. I like that this way, in one part you get more of the outside perspective of how common are interracial relationships and other facts like that, while the interviews offer a first-person point of view into what it’s like to live everyday life in an interracial relationship.
One thing I do want to change is to implement what Katie suggested in her announcement, adding in information about the history first. This will give context for the statistics and for the entire topic for anyone who reads the project. We also need to figure out what our next steps to add in will be. I don’t have any solid ideas for what we could put on there, but we can brainstorm and research that this week.
